today i am over at effortless style doing camila's in her shoes post.....i didn't take a picture of my shoes b/c to be honest, i'm a barefoot kind of girl....

a date.

i've got a date w/ this guy and a can of spray paint this weekend.  i found him at goodwill almost two and a half yrs ago for $3.99.  he's been living in the storage unit (i bet he's glad to be out).....he finally has a home- the corner of our front porch/ breeze way.  i hope he will be happy...i can't wait to finally swing in him!!

i am loving this ink blue color....and those floors in the first pic are just fabulous!!  i have had the bottom picture saved for a long time.  i think it would be fun to paint my laundry room door w/ chalkboard paint and then draw this fancy door on it!!  hope y'all have an amazing hump day!

i have a slight obsession with the skirted table....especially an octagonal, tailored one.  let's add this to the very long list of things i need for my house :)

things...

i needed some R&R...i have been running on empty.  so the fam packed up headed to the mountains for the weekend....it was just what i needed.....
i managed to read a couple of my magazines finally!  i am loving this outdoor seating arrangement in this month's country living....antique chairs that interior designer lynn-anne burns finds and then paints fun colors.  i mean, please tell me where you find a chair like the one she is sitting in...this mommy totally needs it!!!
and i flipped for angie hranowsky's kitchen design in the new charleston home....i don't think i will ever get tired of that manuel canovas wallpaper!!
i was able to find some time to go to several "junkin" spots and was super happy to find this little lucite table.  my husband eyed that guy sitting on his parent's porch and said "what is that"....little did he know, it was coming home w/ us!!!
i had a meeting in atlanta on monday, so i made a point to stop by gramercy....it's a fabulous store w/ the cutest girls that own it!!!  i am dying to purchase a madeline weinrib rug that they have in there (it is sooo hard to actually find a store other then ABC home that sells them and this store does!!).  i'm saving my pennies!!
they have adorable baby items at gramercy too...i had to snatch up a couple of pairs of shorts for walker....and they monogram the shorts!!  but since i'm not local, i took them home and am going to get them monogramed here.
when i got home from atlanta, i found these on my desk....my mother in law brought them over from her yard....i'm jealous.  the only thing growing in my yard is over grown grass and weeds.
last night, i did my weekly run to target (if you are a mom out there and can go to target and not spend $$ please give me some pointers...it's like crack for moms....i think they feed something into the air).  i had to get tay this little diddy...$14.  can you get any better?!
and i am finally happy to tell y'all....i have pillows on my sofa.  it's been a really long time since i have had any!  terrible, i know.  i just couldn't commit.  now i am dying to have more made!!!  hope y'all have a happy hump day!

i wish i had that bike (or any bike)...i think a nice bike ride is just what the doctor ordered...but then again all of these images seem quite pleasant.  hope y'all are enjoying this beautiful day!!

i apologize....i have neglected y'all.  and i am sorry.  life is busy but that's no excuse....
here's what i have been up to.  the other day i went to an art auction.  i purchased a painting b/c i love the artist a lot.  it's her first original work.
i was kind of taken aback when i turned over the painting and saw exactly what the artist's subject matter was:
as far as i know, i don't own any orange unitards but apparently taylor thinks i would look nice in one.
i also went to metrolina a couple of weekends ago.  i have to admit, i have been spoiled by scott's.  i only walked away w/ a painting (not the one above).  but on the way home, we stopped by the stark outlet.  my home desperately needs rugs.  i saw "outlet" so i thought i would score an amazing deal.  i fell in love w/ this bad boy:
it was a carpet remnant that happens to be 12' x whatever you want to cut and bind it.....the only problem is she's real expensive.  the word "outlet" basically means out of my budget.  which makes me sad b/c i looked at the rug in this picture and low and behold, it's the same one:
we were totally meant to be...and the colors couldn't work better. *sigh*
to make up for the rug that's out of my price range, i bought this piece.
world market, on sale....i like her.  and the box serves as entertainment for the kiddos...i told them it was a boat.  it worked for about 20 minutes.
sunday was house "work day"....we did some rearranging (i moved the stools to the LR)....and finally hung the pictures throughout the house that have been sitting on the floor for 3 months.
that's what's going on here....hope y'all have a happy tuesday!!

lately a lot of the photos i have been saving for the house have one thing in common: groupings of art, symmetry, and order.  all of these things are lacking in my household (especially right now since everyone in the fam is recovering from the flu)!

tay's window treatment

i take forever to make decisions when it comes to my personal home....too much great stuff at my finger tips combined w/ indecisiveness.  it leads to an undone house.  i often tell my clients to store inspiration photos somewhere so you can use these as a tool to show your sense of style.  i have a storage folder for my house on the computer.  and one thing that keeps popping up are these window treatments (you will start to see patterns in the photos you keep).  so since i find myself drawn to these, it's time to just do it!!!  i'm thinking tay's room....much like pic #1 (she already has light pink walls)-white linen roman shade but i think i am going to use the leftover la fiorentina from her headboard as the border accent.
